How to fit a replacement oven door?

Hi everyone…

I’m swapping my oven door as I broke it :puzzled:

I put a new together without issues but putting it back on is proving difficult. The ‘Safety latch’ just won’t move to unlock.

Amy ideas on how to get this done.

model : Esatto 60cm e064, hope this helps.

thank you. IMG_6233.jpegIMG_6234.jpeg

Re: How to fit a replacement oven door?

Hello @Newgreenthumb

Thanks for sharing your question about your oven door. Would it be possible for you to post the make and model of your oven? This will give our members a chance to assess your ovens door lock and release methods. We can then make recommendations on how to proceed.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Re: How to fit a replacement oven door?

Hello @Newgreenthumb

I believe it looks like the safety catch is already in the open position. Have you tried to slide the door in, in its current configuration? Have you tried to pull the large steel hinge further back? This might possibly loosen the safety catch.

If none of these suggestions work, I believe it's time to call the manufacturer for assistance. I'm sure there is a method on how the door can be re-installed.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

IMG_6233.jpegIMG_0484.pngThank you @EricL

the door came like this with the hinges already in. I’ve tried everything to open them as they’re closed but can’t seem to get it right. I am able to out the door back into the oven but unfortunately it won’t Hold as the safety catch won’t latch. Not sure that makes sense.

the company said to call a technician repair man and resent the instruction manual. Whxih is not helpful at all.

Re: How to fit a replacement oven door?

Hello @Newgreenthumb

Allow me to make further inquiries regarding your oven door. I'll be passing by the store tomorrow and I'll speak to the kitchen specialist regarding your oven door. Can you please tell me which store you purchased the oven from?

Thank you for your patience.

Re: How to fit a replacement oven door?

Hi @Newgreenthumb ,

The usual method is to approach the oven with the door held at about 45°, or perhaps a little more upright. Manoeuvre the hinges into their holes, by pushing the top of the hinge upwards first, then the bottom of the hinge should go in. They should then drop down a little into the slots. Then open the door, and at that stage you should be able to pull the safety latches down to lock the hinges into place.
