Hi there,
I’m hoping to get some advice. My kitchen cupboards and dining table both have a black laminated finish and are showing general wear and tear. Rather than replacing them, I’m wondering if there’s a product or method you’d recommend to repair the marks. I’ve attached some photos for reference.
For context:
Table: MDF with a Fenix laminated top surface
Cupboards: Laminex finish
Thanks for your help!
Hello @MichelleWhelan
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your laminate doors and table.
I'm currently not aware of a permanent laminate colour restoration wipe. The store does carry laminate surface cleaners such as the White Knight 500ml Tile And Laminate Cleaner, but nothing else that would restore colour and finish.
As a possible alternative, I propose painting the laminate doors and tabletop with the Dulux Restoration Range painting system. I suggest bringing one of your doors to the store and asking the paint specialist for a colour match in the Dulux Restoration Range, this is on the condition that you still prefer to use a similar colour to your existing door. You definitely have the option of putting on a new colour.
Here is a handy step-by-step guide: How to Paint Laminate Kitchen Cabinetry
The general steps are to clean the surface of the kitchen doors and panels, sand it lightly then clean the surface of sanding dust before applying the primer and top coat. I propose getting some colour card samples from the store if you are planning on changing your door colour.
