Hi everyone,
I’m looking at organising some new PVC waste traps for my kitchen Sink. I just need advice and guidance on what exactly to purchase for installation. As pictured (small sink)
Thank you on advance
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @MoHashi. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about installing sink traps.
To set up a new waste trap for your kitchen sink, you'll typically need a length of PVC pipe that matches the diameter of your existing floor waste — usually either 40mm or 50mm, depending on what’s already installed. You’ll also need a joiner to connect your new upright piece of pipe to the existing floor outlet. This is attached with PVC solvent cement.
Once the vertical section is in place, it can be cut to the correct height to allow a trap to be installed just below the sink. The trap itself is adjustable and connects both to the upright PVC pipe and the threaded waste outlet at the bottom of your sink.
Just a friendly reminder — installing or modifying plumbing in your home is considered regulated work, so it must be done by a licensed plumber.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

G'day @MoHashi
Some years ago my wife and I installed a new kitchen and sink. My brother was with me when we went to Bunnings with rough dimensions.
Alone in the plumbing section we laid out all the PVC pieces on the concrete floor - like a jigsaw, based on our dimensions.
Two plumbers came by and corrected our canvas by adding and deleting items and offered tips and tricks.
I thought that was pretty neat and decent at the time.
And it fitted perfectly! 😁
Thank you for that!, that’s great.
All noted!. Thank you!
