our skirting board has seen better days 😅 what’s the best way to repair and prepare this cosmetically to prepare for painting? I’m guessing wood filler? Any tips would help. We aren’t planning to replace the skirting board, just trying to get it to a reasonable standard that will be ready for painting over. Would love to hear suggestions! Thanks!
Hi @MarlieBeena,
Thank you for your question.
Yes, a filler product such as this Earl's White MulTfill is the way to go.
You can apply it using a Pro Renovator 75mm Plastic Scraper, allow it to dry, then sand it smooth with some fine grit sandpaper such as this Flexovit 240 Grit Painted Surface Sandpaper Roll, following the contours of the skirting board.
Once it has been sanded smooth, you can prime and paint it to finish the cosmetic repair.
Check out How do you paint skirting boards and How to paint trims for some guidance on the painting process
