I have purchased a doggy door insert that is supposed to be easy to install but I'm having issues with the whole project. It is a Patiolink with a LOCKING dock bracket meaning both the glass & the screen door will lock. The Connecting panel is aluminium.
Our female lock is installed into the wall, not the aluminium door frame. I do not know if it will fit to the adaptor as I can't remove it. The top and bottom of the sliding door adaptor is shown as being able to be cut with a hack saw but I am not strong enough to do that so I need assistance.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @wildefire5. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about installing a doggy door.
As I'm not familiar with the Patiolink product you're referencing, it might be best to reach out to the supplier, as they would be best placed to answer your questions on their product.
I guess the issue here is whether the insert suits your frame when the locking mechanism is outside of it. Secondly, it looks like you might need assistance cutting it to size, so you might need to reach out to a tradesperson to assist with that.
If the locking mechanism for the insert does not align with the locking mechanism on your wall, you could probably assume that the kit does not suit your style door. We can also order a locking dog door from our supplier Hakuna. For their doors, the insert panel gets fixed in place in the frame, and the wall locking mechanism is removed and attached to them. It appears to work with locking mechanisms outside the frame.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Mitchell, thanks for your reply. I have reached out to the supplier before christmas but they did not address the problem with the female lock being attached to the wall. They have received 2 photos and a full explanation but they are not listening to the issue that I have with the position. I have not heard back from them this week which is why I am reaching out for a tradie to assist. I already have a Hakuna insert from a previous residence but it is not a security door, but thanks anyhoo for the offer. What is the price for yours?
The Hakuna locking patio kits are a Special Order item, so you'd need to visit your local Bunnings store, and the Special Orders team can price one for you @wildefire5.
If you are looking for a tradesperson to assist with the installation of your current unit, then I'd suggest checking out our Service Marketplace.
