How to fix pool paving edge gap?

Hi gurus, my latest conundrum;

recently had some nice aggregate pavers installed around our pool area. Pave lock (westbuild) has been applied across the area but in places it’s not setting. One area in particular near the fence edge. I assume this gap is too big for the product and it’s susceptible to a bit of water from kids bombies, that whole side is only 800mm from pool edge. What’s the best method to secure and lock in that edge ? The gap is 20-30mm 🤷‍♂️ the Pavelock is not firm at all see finger hole

Thank you for your question about some issues you're having with paving sand around your pool.

Products like this will usually have a technical data sheet with information about their use. You can see in the datasheet that it is not designed for use around pools. This is likely due to the chlorine or salt in the water.

My suggestion is to remove it and replace it with a product that specifically mentions it can be used around swimming pools such as this Easy Mix Paver Bond Polymeric Sand or this Dunlop Easy Clean Epoxy Grout.

Thanks Jacob, that sand product N/a in WA , I have read that a mix of sand and cement may be ok for the bigger gaps ?

Apologies for that, some suppliers are unfortunately regional and not available in all locations across Australia and New Zealand.

Sand and cement mix is an option, but I am not sure how well it would hold up with consistent exposure to chlorine or salt. You can certainly try this as an inexpensive option, however, it may not last as long as it would if chlorine or salt water is not present.

Ultimately, long term, an epoxy grout is your best option for this job.
