How to fix pressure washer stuck hose connection?

I have been trying to undo a pressure washer hose attached to the wand but it is extremely tight (screw not quick connection).

I have tried a number of options including WD40 and soaking in hot water without success.

Using 2 vice grips has caused damage to the plastic outer coating which has now very minimal grooves to grip to.

I don't really want to cut the hose as it a good hose

Any suggestions ? Thanks

Without seeing the connection, it is hard to say, but you can often use heat and percussive force to loosen screw connections.

If you have a hair dryer, you can try heating it up a bit and twisting it. The heat can help loosen things up a little bit to get things moving.

You could also try tapping it with a hammer while twisting. The percussive force can often break up sediment and corrosion that can cause things to seize up.

The vice grips are still likely your best option in terms of tools for gripping the connection, but you may want to wrap the head in a rag or cover the grip in a few layers of tape to prevent further damage to the fitting.

Sorry for the delay in my reply and many thanks for uploading those images.

I've never come across a pressure washer that uses a screw connection for the lance, they've all been click-on connections. That's a fairly standard connection method across all brands. However, I'm sure that the might be brands out there that could have implemented a screw connect, it's just not common.

If it was one of our brands and you could let me know the brand and model number I would be happy to call the manufacturer for troubleshooting advice. Alternatively, if it's not one of our brands it might be worth reaching out to the supplier for assistance.

It sounds like you've given it a good go and if WD40 has not worked the thread could be entirely locked. If there is even a chance it could be a quick connect try moving the black plastic section back and forth to see if it loosens up.

Some of the older pressure washers are a screw on fit - I even have one that requires a spanner.

An engineering workshop told me this product (Grunt) is far superior to WD 40 as far as 'penetration.'

I haven't been able to validate that claim - yet. Might be worth trying?

I don't think a vice is the way to go.

As per above - large curved jaw multi-grips with insulation.

But this thread being 2 weeks old - you may have already succeeded. @Heffa76 😁
