Hi, I need to replace my letter box I got home from work today and found the front of my letter box had been ripped off the measurements are roughly W 260mm x H 165mm x L 355mm just need some advice if there is a product that can fit in the hole.
Regards Rhys
Hey @Noyade Ill keep an eye out and let you know how I go.
Hi @Noyade , great work again, love your masterpiece and kindness, generosity 👍
Great news, @Noyade sent me the finished product and it’s a great fit. The paint was a little wet so some of the packing cardboard stuck to it so I’ll clean that up. I’m going to get it installed this week and will send updated pics.
Hello @Melway7
Thank you very much for sharing those photos, we look forward to seeing your letter box front cover installed.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Thanks @EricL. Im off to Bunnings tomorrow to get the glue suggested by Dave. Just wanted to check this is the best one.
Hi @Melway7
The Selleys 415g Brick And Concrete Sealant should work very well. My best advice is to use masking tape or similar to hold the metal plate in place until the adhesive cures. Once the adhesive cures, you can then remove the tape holding the metal plate.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Wonderful. I’ll post once it’s done.
I second those comments by @JoeAzza
It's awesome how often @Noyade you donate your time, expertise and materials to come to the rescue! It's these types of specialised small-ish metal work repair that unless you can do it yourself would be almost impossible to find somebody or business that would, let alone for free!
I can vouch for that sealant to @Melway7j
Just ensure you press plenty into the surrounding cavity and take @EricL advice to tape up anywhere you don't want it to stick to. Use something flat like a plastic spatula to wipe the excess level to the letterbox face, then slowly peel the tape away.
Though the surface will be touch dry in 10-15min, the internal fill will take many hours. With that in mind, I would install the letterbox either straight after the postie has been or wait until Sat morning. Obviously also take in to account any rain that maybe due.

Yeah, sorry Mel - I gave it a second coat that morning and was a little impatient watching the paint dry. Just give it a really good sanding and repaint - it'll buff out. 😁
Glad it fits. 👍
