Old-school screening for new side entry

Hi all,

I needed some sun & privacy screening on the landing outside our new side entry. Looked at all the various options to buy the bits & assemble but nothing took my fancy soooo… decided to build from scratch.
Used the classic old technique of spacer blocks. 18x18mm DAR exterior for the trim & blocks, 18x90 DAR exterior for the slats.
Really happy with how it’s turned out (they, as there’s two).

I’ll post more pics once sanded & painted.

Thank you so much for sharing this awesome screening project. I totally agree with you that traditional methods are always the best. Some methods even let you use fewer screws to build and still maintain integrity.

Please keep us updated with your progress, we look forward to seeing the screen once it's been painted.

That looks neater than screen up but with a similar principle.
