With Mother’s Day round the corner, we asked some wonderful mums in the Bunnings Workshop community for D.I.Y. products they would love to receive as gifts.

A proud mum to three “very energetic” kids, Claire says her children inspire and encourage her D.I.Y. projects. “The kids are a bright spark in our day and offer us so much motivation to create a home to inspire them.”
Here are Claire's top Mother's Day picks:
1. Wagner Flexio 690 Extra Spray Kit
“I have so many D.I.Y. projects and would love a paint machine that is versatile enough for me to use on both big and small projects.” 
“I would love a sander that has the flexibility to get to all of the hard-to-reach places when sanding furniture.”

“A rotary tool that’s perfect for all of those smaller, hard-to-reach places.”
Jess (@prettyliving)
Experienced Workshop member Jess enjoys working on D.I.Y. projects with her three children, adding that they “love to help”. “Family projects are the best, as everyone gets involved. The kids, in particular, are quite proud whenever they help in some way.”

“I’ve found a real passion of being out in the garden, so I want to start learning how to grow my own herbs and vegetables. I think the raised garden bed would be a good way to start before we create something on a bigger scale.” 
2. Crafted Hanging Macrame Terrarium Kit
“I saw these in Bunnings while I was browsing for something else. I thought they were super cute and that making them would be a fun project. They would look lovely hanging somewhere in the house.”
3. Project Home Terrazzo Coasters
“I’ve always wanted to try making my own coasters but never knew where to start. These kits look fun. Plus, I love having D.I.Y. pieces around the home.”
Noelle (@Noelle)
Horticulturalist Noelle Weatherley is well known within the community for sharing her vast gardening expertise with other members. She has two adult sons and four loving “grandies” aged between 19 months and seven years. 
Here are Noelle's top three Mother's Day gifts:

“For watching my grandchildren at sport and play.”

“To keep me on target and healthy.”

Sandra describes parenting as “the hardest job I’ve ever had, and the most rewarding”. She has three children aged between four and six.

“I’ve always been a fan of plants and prefer them over cut flowers, so an indoor potted plant would be on my list.”

“Being a mother means creating memories with my family. So, it'll be perfect to have the kids helping me plant vegies in a raised garden bed and watching them grow together.”

“I’d also replace my home slippers with some Hard Yakka work boots.”

Some of Alyce’s popular D.I.Y. projects include upgrading her daughter’s wardrobe and building a feature wall for her daughter’s bedroom. She proudly says her three kids enjoy helping her with her projects, especially when it comes to “painting and decorating spaces”. “For Mother's Day this year I would love to receive some of my own tools, so I don't always have to use my hubby’s set or have to take turns when we are working on larger projects together.”

My own picks
A huge thank you to all our members for sharing their gift ideas. Being a new mum myself, I’ve also included three gifts I would love to receive on Mother’s Day:
1. Hy-Clor Pulse Automatic Pool Cleaner
Time is of the essence when you’re a full-time working mum. I’d love to use an automatic pool cleaner that can save me lots of time and effort. 
2. Karcher K2 Power Control High Pressure Washer And Home Kit
Our driveway is one of the first things that people see when they visit our home. This pressure washer would be great in helping us keep the area clean.
3. Ryobi One+ 18V 40cm 2.0Ah Cordless Hedge Trimmer Kit
I saw a friend using one of these and I was amazed at how simple it is to use. Can’t wait to trim my hedges using this tool.
