Re: diy pendant lights no hard wiring

Good work... and those puck lights look very familiar!

I bought 20 of them from a local market - why would I do that?

(Am I allowed to post external link?)

The link below is a silhouette picture light and the puck remote bottom right.

I would modify one puck, strip it down and cut the track that fed the LEDS which was the connected to fairy or string LEDS hot glued to the back of the silhouette object. That round metal thing in the middle is a eyelet and behind a motion sensor. The user was able to switch between AUTO (motion sensor) or MAN(ual) using the puck remote. Note the post date 21 Feb 2020. Doing that sort of stuff during the lockdowns kept me busy.

Cheers

Hello @alanasfurniture

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your pendant light project.

What a clever alternative to hardwired pendant lights. This is definitely in the can-do category as there is no electrical wiring involved. Your use of the puck lights with remote is a great way to avoid having to manually turn the lights on and off from the source. I'm amazed at how bright they are.

Again, thank you for sharing such a fantastic project.

Good Morning @alanasfurniture

Nice work  I have tried a few times to make my own lamp shade style with things that are being discarded  My latest effort will be repurposing a glass pendant light. You have given me some ideas!

Re: diy pendant lights no hard wiring

Hi Eric,

thank you so much, I have wanted pendant lights for such a long time without the cost of hardwiring them to save on electricity costs.

i absolutely love how they turned out and I can now see what I’m doing on my kitchen bench whilst cutting up dinner.

appreciate the feedback immensely.

Re: DIY pendant lights with no hard wiring

Thank you so much, it’s amazing what can be done with what other people throw away, I flip furniture for extra cash with peoples unwanted furniture.

good luck with your project, let me know how it turns out.

Re: diy pendant lights no hard wiring

Thank you so much, youve given me an idea to actually hot glue the puck lights as I don’t think the backing tape will hold up over time, thank you and love your project too.

Re: diy pendant lights no hard wiring

A truly excell👍ent idea! @alanasfurniture

Hi @AlanM52

Thing is, the link takes us to pictures of illuminated dogs and other animals, not the project you are describing. Can you repost a link to the project?

Edited to add, don't bother, I missed the fact that you were intentionally posting to the Dog thread.
