Hi,
I've got a big and heavy aluminum-framed front door with a glass pane inside and would like to install a door closer on it. What screws can I use to connect it to the door if the aluminum is 2 mm?
Regards,
James
Hello @kislov99
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about your door.
I propose looking at the Ryobi Silver Heavy Duty Commercial Door Closer or the Lemaar Silver Adjustable Standard Door Closer. Both door closers have excellent customer reviews are relatively easy to install.
As to the screw size, it all depends on the size and depth of the mounting hole of the door closer. For example, I suggest having a look at the Buildex Metal C3 Smooth Top Tek Screws 10g x 16mm Bx150. It has a wide head, short body and high threads. My best advice is to check if the head size of the screw is not too big for your door closer and that it is long enough to hold the assembly firmly to the door.
I also suggest having a look at this discussion - How to install Ryobi 65kg Hydraulic Door by @fredanglo.
