Hello, I am looking to use a panel such as this one https://www.bunnings.com.au/specrite-2200-x-600-x-26mm-hevea-multi-use-panel_p0447352 to create a wall mounted art bench/desk in our rumpus room.
It will be mounted to a masonry wall. What products would you recommend for the brackets to hold it, and what intervals along the 2200 length should they be placed?
Hello @RachBee
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about a wall mounted art benchtop.
I suggest using Carinya 380 x 380mm Galvanised Angle Bracket every 500mm. If your masonry wall is concrete filled, I suggest using Dynabolts to anchor the brackets to your wall. If parts of it are hollow, I suggest using Ramset 300ml Chemset UltraFix Plus in combination with Ramset M10 x 130mm Galvanised Chemset Stud - Each and Ramset Multifit Sieve - 4 Pack. I recommend having a look at this guide - Ramset™ UltraFix PLUS Polyester Anchoring Kit.
I suggest using large standard timber screws on the benchtop. My best advice is to double check the length of the screws to make sure you don't punch through to the other side.
I also suggest having a look at this discussion - Floating timber desk with concealed bracket by @ProjectPete.
