How to repair a triple cornice?

Triple cornice - paper had come off and was damaged so I had to cut some off. how can I attach the remaining paper back to the bare cornice? Can I still paint over the entire cornice with sealer , binder and primer plus top coat?

Hello @Nanne 

My apologies for the late reply. To re-attach the paper back on to the cornice I suggest using Gyprock CSR 2.25kg Less Mess Multi-Purpose Joint Compound. Please make sure to apply just enough to attach the paper back on. Over application will make it lumpy and difficult to straighten out.

While you are doing the repairs, this would be a good time to fill in any gaps or cracks in the cornice. Once the filler cures you can then sand it down then prime and paint the surface.
