How to repair damaged cornice?

I have coving above my wardrobes which was partly removed presumably to install the curtain rod.

Is there a way for me to repair the coving up until the corner or do I need to replace?

I only want the coving to extend on the same line - see pink mark up on image below.

Help on either how to do the repair or replacement would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Repairing damaged cornice

Hello @renorenoreno

If you still have the original piece of coving that was originally in that spot and it is not badly damaged, you can probably reinstall it and use a bit of filler to repair it. But if you don't have the original piece, it will be necessary to purchase a repair piece. The general steps will be to place a timber brace inside the gap and anchor it using screws and an adhesive. You then cut a piece of plaster board in the shape of the gap and place it over the timber brace which can be anchored using screws and adhesive as well.

The gaps can be filled filler and allowed to cure before sanding it down to a flat level finish. You then attach the coving with adhesive and fill the joins and gaps with filler and allow the entire set to cure before you paint the surface.

Here are some discussions that will help:
