How to replace flyscreen?

Thinking of replacing the mesh on a fly screen.

Have you a got a video on DIY?

Do I need to unscrew the tiny "panel" before I can remove the fly screen? (photo attached)

The panel doesn't appear to obstruct the spline from being removed, so I see no reason to remove it. I'm actually not entirely sure what that panel is there for. Does it secure the flyscreen frame into the window frame?
