My partner and I have got a friend who’s doing it a bit tough at the moment. She mentioned that she needed her dining table replacing, so we decided to make her one for Xmas.
If you want a starter project that looks fairly impressive, this is a really good one to attempt. It only took us three hours and we bought everything from Bunnings.
My only warning, is that it’ll cost you over $200 to make, even if you have screws, brushes and varnish already waiting in the shed.
The legs were made from two 1200 x 600mm hardwood panels. We kept them 600m wide, but shortened them to 850mm. The off-cuts will come in handy for something!
We then used eight black angle brackets (two either side of each leg) to secure things together.
Only took us two or three hours, including a coat of varnish - and she’s very happy with her new table.
@Noyade Thanks - it felt good to do it for someone. Might try and do a project for a friend every so often.
What a great project that I'm sure most could achieve over a weekend. Looks sensational.
Many thanks for sharing.

Do you have any projects you're completing at the moment? It would be great to hear about the projects you have going on around your own home and garden, and we'd encourage you to let us know if you ever need assistance with them or would like to share your results. I trust you'll find loads of inspiration within the community as our fabulous members share their projects here all the time.
