This economical makeover brought a new freshness and practicality to a dated laundry.
The project
My husband renovated the laundry for me with the help of his Dad. The only tradie we got in was the plumber to move the pipes to under the sink. We have licensed electricians in the family so they did the electrical work for us.
The benchtop is a bamboo piece from Bunnings that hubby cut to size. I varnished it with marine-grade varnish to make it waterproof and stop water marks.
I was originally going to go with white grout for the splashback but I loved the way the slate grout made the tiles stand out. The new cabinets were flat packs off the shelf from Bunnings. All up the reno cost about $1500.
I hated my laundry to start with but this reno made it one of my favourite rooms.
