A budget makeover for a European-style laundry complete with new cabinetry, sink and laminate marble-look benchtop.

The project

We upgraded our laundry by installing new cabinets, open shelves, a 2400mm laminate marble-look benchtop, sink and mixer tap. I started with the overhead cabinets and eventually worked on the bottom.

Originally we wanted to knock it down and move it into another section of our home, but the alternative of upgrading the space is more feasible at the moment.

Removing the laundry trough and installing a new benchtop and cabinet for a sink and mixer was uncharted territory. The laminate marble-look benchtop made the cuts outs for the sink and mixer much easier to do and is budget-friendly.

Hi @casey7

Thanks ! I did the whole Reno myself (except for the plumbing) including 'oak' look section section where I used the in-built natural melamine panels from Bunnings. I started off with some basic tools and little experience and eventually, with a bit of trial and error - grew to be comfortable enough to complete this.

All the best!

On page three of @diy_hausdesigns's discussion: The laundry project, we start getting into the nitty-gritty of how he created these shelves himself out of inBuilt 16mm 1800 x 595mm Natural Wood Melamine Colourboard@natski. There are some basic plans to follow and an in-depth description. They really are the icing on the cake for this project.

Please let me or @diy_hausdesigns know if you need any assistance creating these shelves yourself.

Just Starting Out

@MitchellMc and @diy_hausdesigns how do we find out the items used in this reno? I am embarking on ours this weekend and love the simplicity of this one and we only have a small space to deal with  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
