A laundry makeover including new Kaboodle cabinetry, floating shelving, benchtop and tiles.

The project
We renovated our laundry in 2022. Back then we were very much rookie renovators and made some mistakes. So it was time to rectify these and subsequently we were able to change the style of the space to suit the rest of our newly renovated home on a small budget.
Steps
Step 1
This was the laundry before the initial renovation.

Step 2
Our benchtop had bowed and was damaged from not enough supports and not being sealed properly. We luckily had a left over slab from our kitchen renovation so got our stonemason back to install that piece in this space.
Step 3
We made the mistake of tiling before having the window and door replaced. Unfortunately our new backsplash and floor tiles were damaged by the window and door installers. We spent only $140 on new tiles for the backsplash that suited our new found style and were able to revamp this space whilst resolving the issues. We did this ourselves using leftover grout, so this only cost us the cost of the tiles (and we shave leftovers!). We had the floor done professionally because this was causing us a lot of issues.
Step 4
The tap didn’t fit properly behind the sink and had become rusty (in such a short time period!). Luckily we had only bought this on clearance for around $20 so it was no big loss. My step-FIL is a plumber so again this only cost us the cost of the new tap which was around $140. Again we were able to also change the style of this and have it suit our needs better.
