How to add privacy screen in a rental?

Question

After some ideas for a temporary screen I could put up here to provide privacy between my neighbour and I in my enclosed patio. The house is a rental so after some ideas that don’t cause too much amending to the house but can fix easily on moving out.

The gap is approx. 5m wide x 1.5m.

It looks like you have a Vergola system with an all aluminium frame and post supports. If thats the case it's going to complicate any temporary fixings. I would follow @Dave-1 idea and run a cable wrapped around the tops and bottom of the downpipes at each end. Then you could use good quality pegs to attach shade cloth to the top and bottom cable lines.

I was thinking of two horizontal wires strung between the walls, hanging an outside curtain/sail type deal. The two wires would stop it flapping about in any breeze/wind but you could get away with just one wire strung across. It would be easy enough to cover over the holes when you go to move out with some putty and paint.

Is that top edge at the rear the gutter? I was thinking of a timber rectangular frame with shade sail type material covering it kind of like a canvas frame for painting. Yoou could use some triangular "chocks" to wedge it in place to create a screen. I would not advise using the gutter tho a spart of the frame work :)
