Hoe to fix Daytec clothesline bar tilting on one side?

Hello Guys

I have a Daytec fence-mounted clothesline and the left rail is sagging at the front. There seems to be a very slight recess in the locking mechanism. I used aviation snips to cut off small pieces from a nylon wall anchor and insert these in the recess, which seems to have worked.

I'm guessing this won't last long. Does Bunnings have anything that I can use as a very small wedge for a more permanent fix without having to get a contractor? Or any other suggestions? Online says to raise the bar and push towards the fence but this isn't working.

I have/had a similar clothesline and yes had the same thing happen to mine (well as in the way your clothesline looks.) I like your temporary solution but can see it wearing or moving out resonably fast. I wonder if you cut a wedge out of a cheap nylon chopping board if it would stand up to time?

I suspect the rail has been bent down so you are trying to give "lift" to the bent part, I dont know how to straighten out that slight bend :/ I had little ones hang off mine and then a tree branch decided to jump off and play the same game… the tree won :) I would keep on trying with the wedge idea, The metal washers that @EricL suggested wont compress so that may be the go.

Thank you for sharing your question about your clothesline. It does sometimes happen that the locking mechanism goes out of alignment. I propose getting a step stool/ladder and lifting the folding section of the clothes frame all the way up to fully release the locking mechanism and reset it. Bring the frame all the way down and then lift both sides of the frame at the same time to lock it in place again. If the frame is still uneven odds are that there is something wrong with the lock or the frame is bent.

If you are after a non-compressible material to use as a wedge, I propose looking at using galvanized 10mm washers stacked together. Another option is to check your docket to see if the Daytek is still under warranty.
