Could be dementia - but does a swiveling/rotating eyelet that uses a coach bolt exist?

Hi @Noyade, There are quite possibly fittings like this done, potentially for the attachment of swings to a solid beam, but none that I'm aware of. Closest thing I've found are these https://www.bunnings.com.au/morgan-v2-endurance-steel-ball-bearing-swivel_p1083187 .

I found the ceiling joists.
Looking at ways of implementing some sort of mobility assist handle just above a toilet. Rest assured - no gymnastic forces will be applied.
Thoughts? Chain? Rope? Handle? I got nowhere with mobility stores. We did try equipment around the toilet - but ultimately not helpful.

Unfortunately, the mounting base is 100mm wide, so the screw spacing would likely be too wide to safely fix into your ceiling joist.
Now that I understand this is for a mobility device, I do need to be careful with the advice provided, as any issues with installation could potentially result in injury. The device appears to be a ceiling trapeze system, and these types of installations really need to be selected and installed to suit the specific application while complying with the relevant safety standards and load requirements.
I’ve gone through both our standard mobility accessory suppliers and their extended ranges to see whether there was a suitable option available, but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find an appropriate solution.
Given the safety considerations involved, my recommendation would be to speak with an occupational therapist or qualified mobility equipment specialist. They would be best placed to assess specific needs and help source a complete system that is suitable, compliant, and safely installed. Mitchell

Mmmm I cant remember seeing a coach bolt styled swivel around. I threw out some large bolt style ones a couple of weeks ago from work. Would it be wise to weld a coach style screw to the base of an eye? Considering you are wanting it for a steady hand I am a little unsure.
As to what type of support, rope or chain. I like chain as Its stronger but a rope with a plaited end might be a nicer look.

Yes @Dave-1 - just to help steady the leg process. Little weight is exerted.
I found an articulated bracket at Bunnings. Four 50mm screws into the joist. I painted the bottom left handle seen above. Orthopaedic rope.
A resounding success. 😁
In ways it's nothing more than a rope based extension to a wall or human connection - me thinks.
