Looking for an advice on where to mount a dryer machine in my laundry area. What is your recommendation on where to install the dryer? Would it be on the wall on top of the sink? I have a tight space laundry area. I haven’t bought a dryer. I will buy once I know where and how to mount. What are the things that I need to mount it? Would it be safe on the wall? Thank you.
Hello @japbrizuela
Thank you for sharing your question about where to hang your dryer. Generally speaking, the position of your dryer will be dictated by the position of your studs. I suggest using a stud finder to locate the timber frame studs behind your wall. Once you locate them you'll need to find out if they are far enough apart to install a dryer bracket. If not, I suggest installing a horizontal timber brace 90x45 that will be anchored to the studs (minimum of two) and the dryer bracket will then be installed to the timber brace.
I suggest having a look at these discussions - Laundry reno - working around stud placement by @tremas and How to mount dryer with no studs? by @bect73.
However, if you happen to have steel studs, I suggest speaking to your builder or the company that installed your steel stud framing. They will have the information on how much weight the steels studs can hold and what would be the recommended way to anchor the dryer to your wall. There are mounting fixtures you can use, but it would be best to find out what the manufacturer recommends.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Hi @japbrizuela
Then again if it is a brick wall there is no issue other than, with any of these options, you will need an electrician to install a power point for it.
"I haven’t bought a dryer."
When you start looking @japbrizuela - ask plenty of questions. I ignorantly didn't hence my new Westinghouse dryer cannot be wall mounted or inverted. But at 51 kg - I'm rather glad now it can't. For my situation - I'd try that cupboard space next to your front loader and add shelves above the sink. And there should be a power supply available.
Cheers and good luck!
