We've renovated one area of our house, however it meets an existing area of the house. The closet skirting boards we would get to match, are taller than the existing. Is it possible to line these up at all? Pic attached of area! Thank you :)

Unfortunately, there isn't really a way to line up two skirting boards of different heights neatly at that corner. From your photo, it looks like the existing skirting might be around 66mm high, while the new skirting is closer to 90mm.
First, I'd see whether you can find the same profile in the correct height. If it's only a short section of the new skirting, another option would be to carefully cut it down to match the height of the existing board. It might be best to have a professional do this on a table saw.
Alternatively, how far does the existing skirting on the right-hand side continue? You could consider replacing that section with the taller skirting up to a natural transition point, such as a doorway. Having the two different sizes meet at a doorway would generally look much more intentional than having the height change directly at an external corner.
Whichever option you choose, I'd avoid trying to taper one board into the other at the corner, as it's likely to draw more attention to the difference. Let me mention @Nailbag, @TedBear and @Noyade, to see if they have any thoughts.

You have two options here. The first is the simplest which would be to replace the short mitred taller skirt with a longer one with a simple cross cut at the walls end. Then use an off cut of your higher skirt to make an infill that you can glue into place, fill and sand any gaps. This would look like below images. The first is looking from above and the second is a side view from the higher side skirt.. See how that looks for a bit and if your not happy with the result, then I would go with @MitchellMc suggestion to lift the cover trim and replace the skirt to the next architrave with the higher skirting and refit the trim. You could cut a piece to transition across the short return but it will be difficult to do and get all the angles right, add to that the fact that the smaller skirting does not really reach the corner properly, you would end up with quite a bit of filler in there too. You would also be unable to use a 45 degree join on the corner.
