Clever and creative Bunnings Workshop members shared over 1000 inspiring projects in our recent search for Australia's Best Projects of 2026.

Competition judges had a very difficult time picking winners, and all Bunnings Workshop community members who shared projects should be very proud of their achievements.

Australia's best kitchen, laundry or bathroom project
Modern D.I.Y. bathroom renovation from blank canvas
An old South Australian bathroom was "beyond saving" so Anais (OurPretty_LittleHome) set to work on a comprehensive renovation that included demolition, wall patching, floor levelling, waterproofing, tiling and painting. A custom timber vanity, walk-in shower, corner bath, Mondella brushed brass tapware, and frameless LED arch mirror combine beautifully.
Australia's best outdoor project
Backyard makeover with fire pit and screening
From a blank backyard to a low-maintenance garden that can be used for year-round outdoor entertaining. Courtney and Daniel (courtneyandconstruct) transformed their South Australian garden with defined lawn and fire pit areas, screening with magnolias and Ekodeck panels, paving, garden edging, mulched garden beds, irrigation and outdoor lighting.

Bedroom renovation using colour drenching
Bree and Craig (AtHomeWithTheBrownes) have been busy renovating their 1970s-era double-storey brick home in Queensland. The couple took a plain storage room and transformed it into a colour-drenched bedroom retreat with ample storage using the bold colour Dulux Pink Dust. The project also included new flooring, reframed walls, lighting and Kaboodle cabinetry.

Media wall with built-in shelves and lighting
Despite having no trade background, South Australian community member Graham (57giles) designed and built a professional-looking media hub, transforming a bare wall. Easycraft convex MDF panels provide texture to the shelves, while downlights showcase the display pieces.
Australia's best small project
Fireplace restoration with crazy paving
Lisa and Patrick (WinnieWebster) purchased a NSW cottage built in the 1860s with a tired fireplace that needed careful restoration. After cleaning and painting the existing stonework, they hand-cut tiles to create a crazy paved base and gave the fireplace a fresh coat of Dulux semi-gloss paint.
