Updated toilet and floating shelves
Hello people, lockdown has given me the time to give the old loo an overdue makeover. As the water tank was attached to the wall, the installation of the new loo (from Bunnings) left ugly holes on show. SOLUTION. I attached a couple of floating shelves to hide the holes. Done! After: Before:

What flooring to use in a flood-prone house?
Hi beautiful people, As some may remember, I live permanently under the rivergums ALMOST on the bank of the Murray River, in my aluminium cabin plus deck, of approx 70 square mts. You may also remember the ( not so ) recent floods. Unfortunately, I now have a whole new appreciation of ' FLOATING FLOORING'. Hats off to EKO…

Leaf me alone
Hi people, well it's been a memorable year, without mentioning the elephant in the mask. My She-Shed suffered a direct hit from a falling limb off the majestic rivergum which shades my home sweet home. The complete new roof is now finished and I'm in need of advice on the best product to prevent leaf litter, and plenty of…

The project The water tank was attached to the wall so the installation of the new loo left ugly holes on show. I attached a couple of floating shelves to hide the holes and decorate the space. Ekodeck decking project
Ekodeck is a durable and low maintenance alternative to hardwood decks that resembles the natural look of timber without the need for oiling or painting. The project August 2016 Spring is almost here and today we started digging the holes for the foundations of my new deck. I decided to go with Ekodeck Plus Classic Red…

New Ekodeck decking project
Hi people, I'm about to build a new deck approx. 5 mts x 2.5 mts attached to my "she-shed". I'm loving the idea of low maintenance 10 yr warranty product called 'ekodeck'. How to install a benchtop dishwasher?
Happy new year Workshoppers. My Christmas gift to myself was a SOHO benchtop baby dishwasher. I'm about to try installing it myself as it looks to be fairly simple. I'm asking if anyone has any advice or tips for me before I start ? The unit is about the size of a large microwave, and I have to buy an attachment for the…

A sucker for succulents
I've recently discovered succulents. Such delightful plants ! While storing the fire-bowl until next winter I had a brainwave - repurpose the fire-bowl and do something with all those little pots I've been squirreling away near the garden shed. So here is my new, and first, succulent garden, complete with rock rascals just…

Stop the Buzz
As the water level recedes in my beautiful Murray river, the mosquitoes are arriving in droves and are ferocious and large enough to carry you away. People are 'under attack' not just near the river but in town too. It seems the only good thing is that they are big enough to see and therefore swat before they bite, but…

Sleeper with the enemy ( I'm the enemy )
Good evening all, I need help with my next project. I'm looking to set some sleepers of varying height ( not length ) vertically into the ground to form a sort of backdrop for a garden feature. Lengths will be from 500mm to 1500mm. If these are the heights above ground, how deep should they be in the ground?? Could I put…

garden helper or hinderance ?
About to start a new garden.Have turned over and broken up the soil then added compost.I remember @CathD's advice to 'feed your soil not your plants' so I'm wondering if this next idea would be good or bad. " i.e. Mix 1 part sugar to 4 parts epsom salts -then place small amount in the hole with your plant." Not sure if I…

revive my canvas awnings please
Happy Census night to all workshoppers. Anybody have experience trying (no pun intended) to refresh / revive canvas awnings. Although they are clearly not new, they are still in good working order. The problem is their faded appearance. Haven't been convinced by the sites I've found on line, and not sure if paint is an…

Fun In The Sun
Wishful thinking in this winter weather don't you think ? My she-shed has a rather large sliding glass door which faces north and will give wonderful bush views with light and warmth from the winter sun. However, in summer I don't want to lose the view by using blockout type window coverings to keep cool. I've already…

Hey people,I'm a spring chicken in my 70th year so please.....be gentle with me ??. I need to put new steps on my patio, wooden pre-cut sets at Bunnings look good but I don't know how to select the correct ones.
