This simple pine stool made using dowel makes an attractive stand for indoor plants.

The project
As a novice here I’m enjoying the process of learning my newfound hobby. This project was a stool to be used for a plant to sit on (I'm not quite ready to make one strong enough for a person to sit on).
It’s a simple pine stool using a 1.2m dowel from Bunnings cut in three. I used an auger bit to cut the holes in the top, which required me to call upon high-school maths to figure out where they were to go (which was actually enjoyable).

I sanded the edges to round them off and used linseed oil to finish it off. I’m pretty happy with the result (and so is my cat apparently).

How to build a planter stand
Put your plants on display by following the step-by-step instructions to build these stylish planter stands. The stands were inspired by the fabulous D.I.Y. plant stand by joineryjo, which prompted experienced member JoeAzza to create his own planter stands and outdoor planter stands.
