How to build a bar in the garage?

Not sure if my question is allowed.

I have been browsing for the past few days to get some inspiration regarding ' making a home bar in the garage' I have seen some great projects on this forum, Pinterest, through Google etc.
Unfortunately I am not blessed with creativity or being good with building something from scratch.
And it seemed to be very hard to find some simple plans online with measurements etc.

I was hoping if someone here on this forum, wouldn't mind sharing their plans to get me started.
Thank you

Re: Start a bar in the garage

Hello @sebastianx

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about turning your garage into a bar.

I suggest having a quick look at these projects:

Now the last two admittedly are not bars, but they show excellent methods on how to prepare a space that could be turned into a bar. I suggest posting a picture of your garage and I'll call out to our members and see what kind of recommendations they can give. Please make sure to post a minimum of two with a wide an angle as possible so we can see as much of the space as possible.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Re: How to build a bar in the garage?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @sebastianx. We trust you'll get loads of help and inspiration for this project and many others in future.

Could you please tell us a little more about what you'd like to build? Do you want to transform your whole garage into a mancave-style bar like some of the examples Eric shared, or do you just want to build a single piece of furniture, such as the @Peggers step-by-step guide How to build a pallet bar?

Please let us know and we can provide more suggests about how to get started. If it's the former, you might also like to share dimensions of your space, some photos, and what elements you might like to include.

Thanks, we look forward to seeing how you can make this project come to life.

Re: Start a bar in the garage

Good Morning @sebastianx

Its always fun creating a functional space from an area not being used as much.

I like the idea of sketching out the area you have to paly with, mark on it hard things such as

- doors

-windows

- Power points

- light switches

- lights

- fuse boxes/controls

- roller door

- aerial sockets/booster boxes

Once you have those things it tends to leed to you what you cant do but that in turn shwos what can be done

Looking forward to some of those photos @EricL has suggested that you post.

Re: Start a bar in the garage

Thank you so much for both replies.
I bought my first house, and comes with a garage that's 5.64m x 5.74m (still waiting for keys so pictures i won't be able to upload yet)
In the long run would be a man cave ish atmosphere.
I am planning on eventually getting a pooltable, some speakers etc

The bar itself, my ideal would be an L shape bar.
and on inside some shelfs, nothing to fancy.
pictures are just example how i would like it.. or this link

6 foot 'L' shaped home bar kit with shelving and appliance space | BHB
unfortunatey they dont ship to Australia, or I would have gone the easy way

Re: Start a bar in the garage

Hello @sebastianx

Thank you for adding that extra bit of information in regards to your bar project. Have you considered  building something similar? If you have the tools and space, you might be able to emulate the construction of this bar.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Re: Start a bar in the garage

Hello @sebastianx

I've done a quick sketch of a bar frame to get your imagination going. This bar frame is actually built using 70x35 untreated pine. It can be covered with your choice of timber or artificial product. The measurements I've paced are for reference only, please adjust them to your needs.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
