What type of lawn mower should I get?

I’ve just bought my first house and need to invest in a lawn mower. We have an average sized backyard and there’s also some grass out the front but my needs are pretty modest. I have no idea what to look for. Can anyone give me some advice? I’m particularly confused on the benefits/drawbacks of 2-stroke versus 4-stroke. And are electric mowers now worth considering?

I'll keep that in mind 😁. Ozito has a good selection of cheaper tools that just keep going and going. I had an ozito dremel I bought for my son which lasted forever. I didn't want to hand it over to him.

Ozito do have a good range of very reasonably prices items at Bunnings. I originally tried out the lawnmower as a bit of an experiment, because I wanted something lighter, but wasn't sure which mower to buy - electric, battery operated or petrol.  I settled on the Ozito as a "try out", thinking if I get three mows out of it, that would be the same as what I would pay for three mows of my lawns with a gardener doing it. Thought process was - I wasn't wasting my money too much, if I didn't like the mower.  Wasn't I pleasantly surprised when the mower just kept operating, and now three years later my Ozito mower and I are still the "best of friends", and still cutting my lawns beautifully. I have definately been won over by Ozito, and now realise that cheaper doesn't always mean an inferior item that will only last five minutes.  Now, I'm beginning to wonder who will last longer - me or the mower!!!
