Do you think it will fit through and tighten up when the yellow bracket is pulled in? If so, I would get another longer bolt & nut (washer both ends), tighten it up, then remove and swap it for the supplied unit. Have you checked that there wasn't a longer bolt set which accidentally got used elsewhere? (Just a thought. .. I've been caught out with Ikea assemblies where I didn't notice the slight difference in components at first & had to backtrack 🤔)
