After smashing out a few of my smaller projects over Easter - my plans are to go all out on my backyard for the forseeable future.

I've started documenting my plans and my progress on the project here: Backyard Makover. I'm really excited about this project as once it's done I'll finally feel like my new home is finished.

I was also inspired last night by @Darren's vertical garden project and will probably take a stab at making my own once I have finished painting my fence.

@Kermit - I'm hoping to get out in the backyard rain, hail or shine. But fingers crossed the rain holds off as I'd love to get some more of my fence painted.

I've wasted away all of the good weather time earlier this year.

Add in floor kit and Ekodeck flooring, pita as it's spot is over the old rainwater tank drain and it slopes as well.

Also looking to go solar for recharging the garden tool batteries.

Will be me, myself and I. I think with some new corner clamps I can avoid asking next door to hold panels for me. Electrical side is plug and play, so main problem will be finding the bits to do it.

Anyway is a good excuse to get a 18v metal saw, 18v SDS+ drill and a flash mitre saw.

I am going to make a water feature using a garden pot to be placed outside my bedroom window. Also will enhance the look with some new plants.

After having recurring homelessness for over a year, I am finally settled into a suitable home with a long term lease. Since moving in February, we have realised there are many small projects we need to do. We have already affixed a mirror to the bedroom wall (no more OMG what am I wearing moments in public!), removed some overgrown roses and bushes from the yard (but I still have a knobbly bit in the ground I have to remove) and hung a handful of picture frames.

What's next? Well there are two projects next on the list.

Outside we have to prepare the yard over winter for spring planting.I have successfully killed everything I've tried to grow, however with the warragul community garden so close, I'm able to get great advice AND take my plant with me if I need to. The current list of plants I'm trying to keep alive is: one red hot poker (a gift from the WCG), six kale seedlings (I'm pretty sure they are dead, diagnosis today from WCG), one yukka in a plastic pot, one lemon tree and an array of rose bushes, hedges and flowers.

Inside we have to find a way to repair our dining room table. It's a 6 person glass table with 4 metal legs. Unfortunately when it was moved last, someone (not naming the removalist) twisted off a leg rather than unbolting it so only 3 legs have their metal discs attached to the table. The problem I have is that the metal leg has to be attached directly to the glass and I don't know how to do that properly and safely. So I'm here to learn.

My husband is handy but has a disability so spends his time repairing and building bikes for the disadvantaged - for free. The parts he can't use or frames and wheels he can't recycle are usually repurposed into my art obsession. He is currently resanding our coffee table to be either painted or stained (it's beautiful wood that's been painted over) - he's been at it over a couple of days and I expect it will take him a few weeks...

I've actually got a lot on my plate. Feeling quite overwhelmed. Purchased my first place and it needs alot of work. My kitchen is from the 70's and needs to be completely redone. Bathroom needs work, whole interior needs repainting, backyard needs to be changed as I'm getting a dog so need to rip half of pavers up and put some grass in. The crappy weather is making it hard to keep motivated plus do the backyard when it's cold and rainy

Planning a renovation on a 1970's apartment! Kitchen and bathroom need redoing and painting and new flooring throughout. Looks like I'll be busy for a while!!

We just moved here from Singapore and very excited to have Bunnings shops available everywhere here! We really want to make a diy bed for our 3.5 years old son, with a slide, bed on the top and playing area underneath with some storage spaces, with firetruck design, hope I'm not "dreaming" too much! 😀 thanks!
