VJ panelling painted in Yacht Race and Rubble by Porter's Paints helps create a beautiful bedroom retreat.

The project
We've made some big changes to this room, including closing off the parents retreat that has a separate entrance and turning it into a study. My favourite update is this feature nib wall.
Firstly the bi-fold doors and jamb had to come down. The door jamb was solid Tasmanian Oak, so I saved these for the nib wall shelf.
To close off the doorway from the parents retreat turned study, we built a 90 x 45 frame and created a nib wall all the way across. This was covered with VJ panelling and my favourite Porter's Paints in Yacht Race. Finished off with the door jamb for the shelf, which was painted in Porter's Paints Rubble.
Some other modifications in this room include:
- Covered the old black leatherette bed with linen fabric and used an Ozito stapler nail gun

- Changed over the old ceiling fan
- Added a beautiful illustration print of Bells Beach
- Painted the bedside tables to match the wall, using Porter's Paints Yacht Race and Rubble
- Made a plant stand and pot cover.
