I am trying to figure out the best way to reinstate/restore the old 60's style bathroom medicine cabinet. The recess still exits, as does the original frame. But the sliding mirrors have long been removed, along with whatever runners existed. I wish to put it back how it was originally. Any advice would be welcome

What support for hall coat stand?
I need to put a support piece of timber on an internal brick wall to bridge the gap between the wall and the supporting brackets of the stand. (See photos) What would be the best way to anchor the supporting piece of wood into the wall? Could I just use a strong adhesive tape? 3M? Hammer in anchors? I'm a bit baffled.
