The project

I was sick of having all these bikes, scooters and helmets around our front entrance so I used recycled timber to construct a practical stand for a small space next to my front door.

Instead of buying hooks, I found railway sleeper iron pegs which I cut down and screwed onto the stand so the helmets can be hung.

How to make a bike rack

Rather than cluttering up your garage or backyard, you can build a bike rack and keep them safe and organised. Check out How to make a D.I.Y. bike rack and D.I.Y. multiple bike rack.

More bike storage projects

Building a bike shelter down the side of the house created easier access for weekenddiyer's family rather than storing them in the garden shed where they were never used.

Tara built a portable bike rack to store multiple bikes in a tight space and still access storage behind them.

Matty hung this bike from the garage wall to give himself more space on the ground.
