Ensuring privacy can help you to relax in your own private sanctuary. @nicoleherrick installed new curtains while giving her bedroom a complete makeover on a budget, while @JoeAzza added window shutters.

12. Add a custom desk or study nook

Fold-away furniture is a smart way to get more from a spare room or smaller home. @Codey transformed an oversized laundry into a multipurpose spare bedroom with cupboards, shelving and a Queen-sized bed that folds into a day lounge.
