How to add privacy to deck in rental?

Hello everyone, we have a small outdoor deck which is like really open to the road and our fence doesnt cover the full height of the deck like others can see if we sit in our deck. we are renting a townhouse. just need some ideas what we can do to cover up and have some privacy because we are thinking of putting some bistro table set on our deck and decorating it a bit for the upcoming summer. the deck is really small and just next to the driveway where everyone else in our townhouse scheme walks out. its really open to the road, any ideas please ? thanks

Re: Outdoor deck ideas

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Anjiiiii. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about creating privacy.

It would be really helpful if you could add a few photos of your deck and surrounding area so members can better understand the setup and offer more tailored suggestions. If you need a hand uploading images, just let me know.

Since you’re renting, I’d suggest using temporary and non-invasive options so you don’t damage the deck or fencing. You could try setting up some privacy screens or decorative panels using garden stakes, which can be easily removed later. Another idea is to place a few large pots along the edge of the deck and grow screening plants or climbing vines on trellis panels to create a natural barrier. We also sell a range of artificial hedge panels that can be secured to temporary frames for a quick and easy solution. It might also be worth having a chat with your landlord to see if they’d be open to letting you add something a bit more permanent, especially if it improves the overall look of the property.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
