Please advise me if 3mm plywood is suitable for this job.

In this photo I have not completed adding all the wooden stripes.

The brown colour bars are the roof beans and the rest are added on.

Directly behind the brown is the metal roof, so it get very hot in summer.

Need to know if plywood can takes the heat and expand resulting urgly surface.
