Replacing old school roller shower screens

Hi fellow renovaters & DIY'ers,

Just wondering if anyone has had any success with replacing their old 3 panel roller shower screen door with a modern hinged single pane shower door (without replacing any other part of the shower) either DIY or through a specialist? We're doing a reno on a very tight budget & don't want to overcapitalise. The rest of the shower is in pretty good condition but the roller door is ugly and annoying. TIA!!

Re: Replacing old school roller shower screens

Hi Isobel, thanks for your message. I think even if we could afford to do the whole bathroom, we probably still wouldnt. It would just be overcaptilising, for where we live. Even if we do what we are planning to, we will be putting ourselves well above the current offers in the market. With a bit of tile paint, a new benchtop and vanity, wall paint and lighting its going to look fab. The area, or corner, letting it down will be the shower, unless we can work out a way to fix the dodgy roller door. So thats really going to be my focus... finding a way to get around that. Hopefully @Brads video might help

Re: Replacing old school roller shower screens

Thanks @Darren. Pretty keen to get a glass door in there, so hopefully I can find someone to do the whole thing for us, as you're right, unintentionally pulling out a few tiles is going to be a concern for us too... it looks like the frame is pretty well sealed to the tiles. Thanks for your suggestion though
