This functional workbench and pegboard incorporates flourescent lighting, an overhead shelf and a chest of drawers for storing tools and materials.
The whole idea started when I saw Simple D.I.Y. workbench by Baggs. I had to adjust some sizing to be able to use the old storage cabinet under the bench, which was my Christmas gift from my boys.
I used MDF for the benchtop and 70mm x 35mm treated Pine for the rest of the structure. All timber was cut to size at Bunnings.
I tried to use all the things that my wife was about to throw away, as you can see with the stools and the storage underneath. The lights are the same story.
I had these lights installed under my kitchen cabinet for a few years. We replaced them with LED lights and the old ones could have ended up in the bin but I kept them for this project.
