Is it ok to keep my mini Lemon Tree indoors, as am worried about heavy rain at the backyard& I don't have any protection there against rain?
Any advice is greatly appreciated...
Hello @Anaree
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your lemon tree.
It’s completely understandable to want to protect your mini lemon tree from heavy rain, and keeping it indoors for short periods is okay—especially during extreme weather. However, lemon trees really thrive with plenty of sunlight and good airflow, so they generally do best outdoors. If your backyard doesn’t have shelter, a good option is to place your potted tree under a Jack 71cm Thinking Outside Sun And Insect Plant Cover or lightweight cover like the Saxon 140 x 70 x 200cm Small Walk In Greenhouse from Bunnings, which gives it protection without sacrificing light.
If you do need to bring it indoors temporarily, try placing it near a bright window—preferably one that gets several hours of sunlight. Just be mindful not to keep it indoors too long, as lack of sun can affect fruiting and growth.
Your care and attention are already setting your lemon tree up for success, and a bit of temporary shelter during storms is totally fine!
