Hi how do I get rid of the weeds? After mowing my lawn has become brown.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Bona. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about lawn care.
Was the lawn immediately brown after mowing? If so, that can sometimes happen when it’s been cut a bit short and the underlying brown layer of the grass has been exposed. It’s quite common if the lawn was a little long beforehand and then taken down low in one go. I’d suggest keeping an eye on it over the next few weeks — you’ll often see new green shoots start to come through as it recovers.
As for the weeds, a good place to start would be applying something like Yates 4L Weed 'n' Feed Hose On Lawn Weed Killer. It will target the most common lawn weeds while giving your grass a nutrient boost heading into the warmer months, which will also help it thicken up and outcompete the weeds.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the useful information Mitchell. The grass turned brown immediately after mowing. I'll keep an eye on it.
Can you also apply fertiliser after the Yates 4L Weed 'n' Feed Hose On Lawn Weed Killer?
Hi @Bona,
The Yates 4L Weed 'n' Feed Hose On Lawn Weed Killer is a combined fertiliser and herbicide, so there would be no real need to apply any further lawn fertiliser.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
