How to treat Murraya plants with leaves yellowing?

I planted a murraya hedge in 2023. And the leaves of my plants are turning yellow. The yellow leaves are slowly progressing to all of the plants. We are in a slight slope, and its progressing up the slope to slowly affect all the plants.
My soil ph is 7. I am in sydney, and we have had lots of heaving rainfall recently.
How can I fix this? Please help

Re: Murraya Plants/Hedge leaves are yellowing

Hi @Violet2,

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

The way the yellowing on the leaves is starting at the tips and working its way down towards the stem makes me think your Murrayas are dealing with a magnesium deficiency.

Since you’ve had a lot of rain recently, the soil around your hedge is likely washed of available magnesium, leaving the plants unable to maintain healthy green foliage. Because magnesium is mobile in plants, the older leaves usually show symptoms first, which matches what we can see.

I'd suggest applying Manutec Epsom Salts to your Murrayas. This product can be dissolved in water, following the mixing ratio on the packaging and used either as a soil drench at the base of the plants or as a foliar spray directly onto the leaves for faster absorption. Apply every 4-6 weeks until the issue is resolved.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Jacob
