Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @kelly9. It's brilliant to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about Logan plants.
Yellowing leaves on a longan tree are often caused by overwatering, poor drainage, nutrient deficiency, or transplant stress. Since your tree was recently given to you, it’s likely still adjusting to its new environment. Check that the soil drains well and isn’t staying soggy, as longans dislike having their roots waterlogged. Water deeply but allow the top few centimetres of soil to dry out before watering again. If the tree hasn’t been fertilised recently, apply a balanced fertiliser or one that includes trace elements such as magnesium and iron, as yellowing leaves can also indicate a nutrient deficiency. Make sure the tree is planted in a warm, sunny spot and protected from cold winds.
If you can, share a photo of the plant and its surroundings so we can better identify what’s causing the issue. Let me know if you need a hand uploading images.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
