I’m not sure how to treat my leggy geraniums? would appreciate any help as i’m not very experienced with gardens. Full. Stop.
Hi @Miranda2,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
Leggy geraniums are very common and usually a sign that the plant needs a refresh rather than anything being seriously wrong. The most effective treatment is pruning. Cut back long, bare stems by about one-third to one-half, making each cut just above a healthy leaf node. Very woody or stretched stems can be cut back quite hard. Although the plant may look sparse at first, this encourages strong new side shoots and quickly restores a compact shape.
Just make sure you use sharp secateurs and give them plenty of water after pruning.
If you can upload some photos, we can certainly offer more specific advice based on what we can see.
Let me know if you need a hand uploading images, I am happy to help if needed.
