Hi,
Just noticed today that the little orange fruits are getting black spots and many have fallen off the plant. Any idea what's this and how can I solve the problem?
Thanks
From the images and what you’ve described @Rahman, it looks like your orange tree is experiencing a combination of stress factors. The leaves show some sun damage, and there are signs of citrus leaf miner on a few of them, but the browning and scalding suggest the plant is getting too much harsh sunlight, particularly in the mid-afternoon. Moving the tree or providing some light afternoon shade could help reduce this stress.
Check your watering routine as well. Water the tree when the top layer of soil begins to dry rather than on a fixed schedule, to ensure the roots are not sitting in water or drying out too much. Even with these stresses, your tree is still producing new leaves, which is a positive sign.
The black spots on the fruit and premature fruit drop are likely related to the combined stress of sun exposure and inconsistent watering. Keeping the tree a little cooler and maintaining consistent moisture will help the fruit develop better. You can also inspect the tree regularly for any signs of fungal disease on the fruit, and remove affected fruit from the tree to reduce further spread. On oranges, fungal issues usually show as black, brown, or grey spots on the fruit, sometimes with a powdery or fuzzy texture. You might also notice premature fruit drop or cracking around affected areas. Remove any affected fruit promptly to reduce spread, and keep the tree healthy with consistent watering and some afternoon shade.
