installing garden taps

I would like to install two garden taps. There is 25mm poly pipe in our garden that is currently capped of with a screen valve as the old metal pipe leading to a tap had begun to leak. The taps will need to be located about 20 metres apart.

I would like to use the quarter turn taps this time but I can see they are either 13mm or 19mm. I am after some guidance around reducing the size of the pipe to join the taps, or how this should all be approached generally. If there is a guide is love to see it.

Many thanks.

Hi @KristyGardener,

Can you please post some photos.

Here are a few photos that will give you some insight as to what's involved.

And have a browse through 25mm poly fittings.

Cheers

Re: installing garden taps

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @KristyGardener. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about connecting garden taps.

@AlanM52 has given some great examples above. You should be able to run your 25mm pipe to the tap location and install a Toro 25mm Poly Nut and Tail to it. You can then connect directly to a FIX-A-TAP 19mm 3/4" T-Handle Angled Garden Tap 'N' Snap Tap With Back Plate and fix the tap to a solid surface.

Just be advised that although these taps are connected to your irrigation system, they might still fall in the realm of plumbing work, requiring a licensed plumber to install them.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
