How can I repair concrete near downpipes underneath my balcony?

I'm hoping to get some advice on what products i can use to fill some gaps in the concrete slab on the underside of my balcony next to some downpipes. I think some of the concrete was chipped away at some stage to allow the downpipe to be replaced and i'm wanting to fill the voids with something to tidy it up. It needs to be suitable for outdoors and preferable be able to be painted. The deepest section to be filled is about 40mm.

Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks

Hello @Ru55

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about the concrete damage on your ceiling.

I suggest using Sika 20kg Sika MonoTop-352NFG Structural Repair Mortar. It is polymer modified for increased durability and is easy to apply and provides superior finishing. My best advice is to strictly follow the mixing instructions for the mortar.

Depending on the circumstances, either Craftright 280mm Plasterers Trowel or Craftright 250mm Brick Trowel can be used for this application. The plasterer's trowel is good for applying mortar to wider areas, whereas the pointed brick trowel is good for tighter spaces. A combination of the two will give you the best results.

Please remember to wear personal protection such as gloves, goggles and a mask when working on your repairs.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric
