Hi there,
We had some hail damage to the outside of our house yesterday. What’s the best way to temporarily seal this until we can get it inspected by a tradie? We are forecasted some more storms this week so I want to prevent any further water damage. Hole is only on the outside
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @ktj. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about repairing a hole.
I’m really sorry to hear you copped hail damage, especially with more storms on the way. For a temporary fix, the simplest and most effective approach is to cover the area with a strong exterior waterproof tape. That will seal the hole well enough to keep water out until a tradie can assess it properly.
Just clean and dry the surface as best you can, then apply the tape firmly over the damaged section. It won’t be a long-term repair, but it will do a solid job of preventing further water from getting in over the next few days.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
