How to renovate front porch?

I am wanting to renovate front porch brown tiles - give it more of a Hamptons feel.

was thinking a sandstone veneer if such a thing exists - open to suggestions as am going to cladding front of house in a light grey.

If possible would also like to redo the grey footpath

I’m not looking to remove foot path or porch tiles more do something over top

Re: Front Porch Reno

Hi @Misha70,

Thank you for your question about renovating your front porch.

As long as the porch tiles are in good condition and well adhered to the surface beneath, then you can lay flooring over them without any issues.

I think you should check out the Tuscan Path 600 x 400 x 20mm Sandstone Pavers as a solid option for new flooring on your porch. They can also be used on the path if you'd like a consistent look for both areas.

They can be installed using Davco SMP Evo Tile Adhesive. It would also be worth applying Davco Ultraprime Surface Primer to the existing surfaces to create a solid bond between the tile and the substrate.

Let me know what you think.

Also, allow me to tag @Dave-1 and @Nailbag to see if they have any recommendations or advice to offer.

Re: Front Porch Reno

Good Morning @Misha70

Your porch and pathway could come up quiet nice

I am wondering if you could mount a few vertical half width studs on the brickwork and then attach James Hardie 2.88m² Villaboard Lining - 2400 x 1200 x 6mm to it, I wouldnt have more then a 20cm spacing between the vertical studs as then potentially it could flex if pushed. There are thicker versians you can go for. Then textured paint on top instead of rendering?

Note - Make sure you leave those air vents just about the tiles uncovered.

Or go for a painted brickwork with a darker trim in squares/rectangles over the top to give it a more tudor look. (was thinking hampton but went sideways lol)

For the tiles and also the pathway, maybe have a look at these Dekart 300 X 300 X 22mm Hampton Grey Modular Decking Tile - 5 Pack I have seen similar ones at IKEA but bunnings stocks similar ones now, I think I have seen them in three colours. You may need to attach an edge to to the tile patio so it covers the horizontal part, Id go for a piece of ekodeck that matches the style of decking tiles you choose.

Hi @Misha70

I would hold on the porch until you have completed the front of the house. Being the most substantial feature, that will then give you a better perspective of what you might like to do to both the porch and paving.
